Holly, particularly playing around with the tabby colors - that was the best. I have long "boring" bits at the end where I kept the pattern weft the same, but changed the tabby colors drastically in some parts and gradually in others.
Meg, it is lovely, I'd like to be as adventurous with colour as you are - it is so effective.

Esmae, I must add, thinking about colors for MANY years and admiring other weavers' colors and wishing to weave colorful stuff but weaving achromatic and monochromatic for years and years and years. Lame, eh?

I've been trying, Trapunto, but it's been very difficult. I shall continue, maybe on a day when the sun comes out finally. And the two sides naturally have slightly different faces - but for a S&W, not a drastic difference.
This looks delicious! - the colors and their relationships! I love that you broke summer and winter down from its evenhanded tradition- vive spontaneity!
Thank you, Julia. To be honest, I don't like the traditional S&W, but since my mentor insists this is one of useful structures for what she thinks I like to do, and she was right. I think it's a keeper. The color thing happened by looking at tons of tons of photographs on weavers' blogs all over the world for a couple of years. I must have kept a mental note of combinations I liked, and tried to use most of the colorful ones I could remember.
I followed your link from your most recent post, and have to comment how much I love this! Summer & winter is one of my favorite structures, and you've done something glorious with it. What a treat.
Ah, thanks, Leigh. But as I wrote, it turns out they are all just modified S&W!! Live and learn!!
